ABOUT LEE COUNTY PSA.....
The Lee County Public Service Authority (PSA) was established by resolution of the Lee County Board of Supervisors on November 13, 1989. Prior to the establishment of the PSA, the Lee Water Authority, established in 1963, developed a system to supply drinking water to the Western portion of Lee County. However, being faced with the growing demand to provide water service throughout the entire county, as well as public sewer service to commercial and densely populated areas, it became evident that County Officials must take the necessary steps to provide service to as many Lee County residents as possible. Thus the PSA was established. The Lee Water Authority continued operating until 1997, at which time the Board of Supervisors dissolved the Lee Water Authority and permitted the Lee County Public Service Authority to assume ownership and operation of the Western Lee system.
Currently, the PSA provides services to approximately 5,000 water/wastewater customers in Lee County, as well as commercial services to the Lee County Federal Prison and the Town of Jonesville.
An executive board is appointed by the Lee County Board of Supervisors, which provides policy and oversight to the PSA's Executive Director. The Authority is dependent upon the sale of water/wastewater services to meet its financial obligations, accordingly setting water/wastewater rates sufficient to generate revenues to meet operation, maintenance and debt services as well as cash reserve requirements. The Authority’s Board of Directors meets every month on the 4th Tuesday.

ATTENTION LEE CO PSA
SEWER CUSTOMERS:

In keeping with our commitment to maintain minimal rates for sewer service, the Lee Co PSA is asking all of its sewer customers to refrain from flushing anything down the toilet except human waste and toilet paper. This includes any and all items that may be labeled "flushable". Any items flushed down the toilet except for human waste and toilet paper creates numerous issues for your service lines, the PSA's lines, our pump stations, and ultimately, our treatment facility, which increases operating costs, and thus increases customer costs.

Help us keep the rates you pay at a minimum. We certainly appreciate your cooperation and understanding on this matter.
